Naration:

The Narrator for this audiobook was a dream to listen to. He read well kept me entertained. Had just the right amount of emotion for each scene, and to top it all off he had a crazy sexy australian accent!

My Thoughts:

I personally don’t indulge in paranormal or fantasy romance too ofen. However when the chance to review this audio book came my way I thought “why not” I do love audio books. Now that I’ve given it a listen I’m glad I did. This was a fun short book with a good portion of hotness.

4.5 Love Tap Audio Book Review of Indulging in Irelyn: The Indulging Series, Book 1 by D.L. Raver (@DawnaRaver)

Indulging in Irelyn: The Indulging Series, Book 1 | [D.L. Raver]

Indulging in Irelyn: The Indulging Series, Book 1

GOODREADS | AUDIBLE

Warning: Don’t read this book if you hate f**ked up alpha males, strong female leads, hot sex, and a kismet love story six years in the making. Oh yeah and a plot twist that will leave you reeling.

NFL quarterback Zolt Hamil was America’s heartthrob until a career ending injury changed his life. Years later, he’s picked up the pieces and carved out a new path for himself. But the mental and physical scars of that day have left him moody and reclusive, and his only relief is indulging in pleasure and pain with his many one night stands. Though many women have tried, Zolt refuses to care about any of them. Only one woman has his heart; a hallucination of a young, sable-eyed, blonde beauty whom he conjured that painful day on the football field.

On the first day at his new job at a law firm in Scottsdale, Arizona, Zolt comes face to face with his hallucination, Irelyn Wilkes. Their fateful connection, and explosive passion for each other pulls them together, and this time, Zolt refuses to let her slip from his life.

But Irelyn has her own demons to fight, and her controlling boyfriend is one of them. He doesn’t take kindly to other people playing with his toys, and he’ll stop at nothing to keep her by his side.

Can Irelyn and Zolt defy the odds and find a way to be together? Or, will the events set in motion years ago keep them apart forever?

New Adult. Recommended for eighteen and above due to adult content, drug use, language, and sexual situations.

ReviewThe Story:

This story revolves around Zolt and Irelyn. Zolt is a former NFL quaterback who was horribly injured on the field. Irelyn just happened to be at the game that day and was able to get close to Zolt while he was laid out in pain. The 2 locked eyes and formed a crazy unmatched connection.

Now fast forward 6 years later. Zolt has spent the last 6 years believing the girl he saw that day was a figment of his imagination. Imagine his shock when his new boss at the law firm he just started working for shows him a photo of his family and Zolt immediately recognizes his boss’ daughter as the girl who has been in his dreams all of these years.

When they happen upon each other the connection instantly resurfaces and the 2 are pulled together emotionally. However there is a problem in the form of Irelyn’s current boyfriend. Talk about a dog. He has his hand in all kinds of illegal stuff and treats Irelyn like she is trash. But for some reason Irelyn’s father is extremely close to him.

Oh and I can’t forget to mention the plot twist. But thats all I’m going to say about that 😉

The Narration:

I am actually split on the narration of this one. The author actually took a different rout than I am used to and had 2 narrators for the book. Since each chapter flips from Zolt’s to Irelyn’s POV the narrator also changed with each chapter. Finn Sterling read from Zolt’s POV & Rayna Cole read from Irelyn’s. Even though this was a different experience it wasn’t an unpleasant it just took a little time to adjust to. However I’m sorry to say I wasn’t thrilled with both narrators. I really enjoyed Mr. Finn’s narration. He had a very pleasant voice and did well bringing through the emotion in the scenes. On the other hand Ms. Cole I wasn’t overjoyed with. I felt that she was to soft spoken and didn’t mesh the emotion well with what the scenes called for.

My Thoughts:

Overall I really enjoyed this book it was a great story. There was a great deal of emotion including sweet romance, hot smexy scenes and times I wanted to jump into the book and smack someone. Not to happy about the cliffhanger ending but that just means I now have to get my hands on Being Zolt!

The Sheik Retold by Victoria Vane and E.M. Hull – Audio Book Review

The Sheik Retold | [Victoria Vane, E. M. Hull]

The Sheik Retold

Audilble Goodreads

Pride and passion vie for supremacy in this fresh new telling of E.M. Hull’s romance classic.

A haughty young heiress for whom the world is a playground… A savage son of the Sahara who knows no law but his own…

“There will be inquiries.” I choked out. “I am not such a nonentity that nothing will be done when I am missed. You will pay dearly for what you have done.”

“Pay?” His amused look sent a cold feeling of dread through me. “I have already paid…in gold that matches your hair, my gazelle. Besides,” he continued, “the French have no jurisdiction over me. There is no law here above my own.”

My trepidation was growing by the minute. “Why have you done this? Why have you brought me here?”

“Why?” He repeated with a slow and heated appraisal that made me acutely, almost painfully, conscious of my sex. “Bon Dieu! Are you not woman enough to know?”

When pride and passion vie for supremacy, blistering desert days are nothing compared to sizzling Sahara nights…

ReviewThe Story:

Diana Mayo is a passionate strong willed woman. She has been raised with wealth and privilege. She knows what she wants and she goes after it. What she wants now is a holiday in the vast Sahara deasert. She has dreamed of it for years and now that her chance is finally here nothing will stop her, even the wishes of her brother and friends.

Sheik Ahmed Ben Hassan is the ruler of all that he knows. No one goes against his wishes. He gets what he wants even if it is by force. And having seen Diana in a ballroom before she sets of on her trek he has decided she will be his.

The Narration:

The narration was well done. Dawn Hyde was clear and concise with just the right amount of emotion thrown in at the appropriate parts.

My Thoughts:

I was wondering if I was going to be at a loss with this story since I had no prior knowledge with the 1919 Classic The Sheik. However I had no need to fear. This is exactly what is called it is a retelling of the story and what a story it was.

The author did a fantastic job of transporting us into the middle of the Sahara. The hot nights made even hotter with the relationship building between the 2 main characters were a joy to read about.  The chemistry between these two strong characters will set your reading or listening device a smolderin’.

Audilble Goodreads

After several decades of looking for true love and never finding it, aging model and lingerie designer, Alexa Ranger, has finally given up the search. A couple of years ago, she got tired of the game completely and just stopped dating. Now friends and family keep her mostly content, so it’s shocking at 50 years old to find herself suddenly wanting a sex life again. It’s even more shocking to be attracted to a much younger man this time. She definitely thinks Casey Carter is sexy, but not handling her own age well, Alexa just can’t get passed their 12 year age difference to even consider a fling. Not that it matters anyway, anything resembling a normal dating relationship is totally out of the question because Casey is related to and living with her daughter’s boyfriend.

The very last thing Alexa needs is yet another talk-show-worthy drama in her already complicated life, no matter how amazing Casey’s kisses make her feel. For a couple of years, 38 year old medically retired Marine Casey Carter, believed his military injury had made him impotent. Having lost his wife to cancer, he hadn’t exactly been worried about the problem. Most days walking with a cane was enough challenge for him. But now that he was ready to move on with his life, he had become more worried when none of the females his cousin brought around held any interest for him. So the last woman in the world he expected to start his engine revving again was the mother of his cousin’s girlfriend.

Even at 50, Alexa is drop-dead gorgeous, and his libido certainly keeps reminding him she is the first woman he has wanted in a long, long time. Ironically, the more Casey gets to know and like Alexa, he finds out desiring the older woman is the easiest part. Jaded and cynical about love, Alexa is a difficult woman to convince of anything, but her kisses are all the proof he needs that they belong together. The former Marine decides his next mission is figuring out how to fit himself into her life.

ReviewThe Story:

Alexa Ranger is a woman to be reckoned with she is a 50 year old former model turned business woman. For the most part her business her friend and her family help her lead a happy life so when she meets 38 year old Casey Carter she is shocked by the instant attraction. However she know nothing can come of it. Not only is he 12 years her junior, he is also the cousin (but more like an older brother) of her daughter’s boyfriend.

Casey has experienced true love before and knows what a treasure it can be. So when he meets Alexa and feels the attraction between them he will do anything he can to get her to change her mind about seeing where it takes them.

The Narration:

I really liked Anne Johnstonbrown as the narrator for this story. Since it is told from Alexa’s POV, Ann had the perfect voice to pull you in and make you feel like you were listening to the character telling you her story.

My Thoughts:

I love the fact that the author stepped away from the younger characters that are so popular right now. She gave us a H/h that some of us feel we can better relate to. The conversations between Alexa nad her friends had me laughing out loud and aome of the antics between the couple were just as funny. This was a great fun read where not only the main characters but also the secondary characters were a blast !

A Beautiful Distraction: Hard Feelings, Book 3 – Audio Book Review

A Beautiful Distraction: Hard Feelings, Book 3 | [Kelsie Leverich]A Beautiful Distraction: Hard Feelings, Book 3

Audilble Goodreads

A brand-new novel in the New York Times bestselling Hard Feelings series – where nothing’s more dangerous than a bad boy with a broken heart.

First Sergeant Rafe Murano did everything to the extreme. He trained harder, he fought harder, and, unfortunately, he loved harder. Because when he fell for the wrong woman it nearly destroyed him.

Home from a deployment, and without his missions to consume him, Murano is ravaged by memories of his heartbreak. So he drinks until he’s numb and drowns himself in meaningless one night stands. But they only take the edge off…until he meets Fallon.

Haunted by her past, Fallon Kelly knows all too well about the desperate desire for an escape. So when she sees the tatted-up bad boy who’s one more punch away from a ride in the back of a squad car, she offers a distraction – but he quickly becomes an addiction.

Little does she know that this bad boy could love so hard it could break her.

©2014 Kelsie Leverich (P)2014 Blackstone Audio

ReviewThe Story:

Rafe is home on leave and on top of dealing with the uncertainty of what to do with himself when he isn’t in combat, he now has to deal with a broken heart. He dated a woman and fell in love with her before finding out she was married. Now he has the guilt of knowing he had an affair with a married woman on his conscience. That just isn’t something he or his tight nit family believe in. Now he finds solace in women and alcohol. Then one night he meets Fallon.

Fallon has been on her own for years. She relies on no one. After a falling out with her family as a teenager she realized you can only count on yourself. As such she doesn’t do relationships. She is a love ’em and leave ’em type of girl. She only has one use for men and after the deed is done they are out the door. However when she meets Rafe she is instantly attracted and when she see’s how he is struggling she offers a sexual only relationship as a distraction. But what was meant to be no strings attached starts to detour in another direction all together.

The Narration:

I actually really liked the narration of this book. Abby Craden has a sultry and smoky type of voice that just pulls you in and makes you think sexy thoughts.

My Thoughts:

To tell you the truth I wasn’t sure whether I was going to like this title or not. The first few chapters were very slow to me. The characters just didn’t pull me in. But as the book progressed I started to know more of what was going to happen. By Chapter 24 the author was pulling on my heart string and I couldn’t stop crying. So all in all I very glad I stuck it out through the beginning.

ReviewThe Story:

I previously read this story as an ebook and part of “The Plus One Chronicle” Boxed Set. So last time I got the whole story at one. This however is just the first part and does an awesome job of whetting your appetite. In this installment we meet Kat and Sloan.

Kat is the daughter of a rich and well educated family. They tend to look down on her because she doesn’t follow the family dream of working at their drug company and creating new medicines. Instead she would rather own and work at her bakery. They are also extremely protective of her after she was involved in a mugging gone wrong 5 yrs ago leaving her with a bum leg and incomplete memories of the attack.

Sloan is an ex UFC fighter turned billionaire from his chain of SLAM fitness gyms. He doesn’t do relationships he does “Plus One” agreements. So he propositions Kat. With her agreement to be his plus one at his many business functions and of course sex on the side he will teach her to defend herself.

Kat wants nothing more than to become a stronger person able to stand on her own two feet so this appeals to her. Then she starts having snippets of flashbacks from her mugging which brings her ex boyfriends involvement into question, but SLoan can’t help but be there to protect her.

The Narration:

Ok all I can say about the narration is Mr Hudson has one dreamy voice! I wasn’t sure if I would like him with so much of the story being in Kat’s voice but he did a great job with her, and when he was talking for Sloan I just wanted to melt !!

My Thoughts:

I really loved this audio book. I liked the story to begin with after reading it previously but adding the narration just heightens the enjoyment !!

©2013 Katee Roberts (P)2014 Blackstone Audio

ReviewThe Story:

Although this book is part of a series it can be read as a stand alone. I did read the first book in the series Wrong Bed, Right Guy (haven’t read the second) but it was quite a while ago and it had completely slipped my mind until I started listening to this one and realized that it was the same characters.

Nathan and Chelsea were married as high school sweethearts but kept is completely secret from everyone. Then right after exchanging vows Nathan runs off and joins the military leaving Chelsea behind. He never expects that she wouldn’t be there when he got back. But thats exactly what happened. Now fast forward 8 years and he wants to set things right. So he invites her to his brother’s wedding. He was surprised when she showed up with divorce papers for him to sign. So he makes a deal with her. If she stays the weekend with him he will sign the papers at the end of it, if that is still what she wants.

Even though she fight her attraction to him Chelsea can’t hold out long and is soon falling into her feelings for Nathan. So this book has some really H.O.T sexy scenes, which of course are my favorite. But there is also a really good story line underneath.

The Narration:

At first I wasn’t really a fan of the narration. I felt that the narrator was over emphasizing every sentence weather it needed it or not. I mean when your saying something as simple as “He opened the door.” I don’t feel that it needs to be said in a soap opera voice. It was a little irritating at first. But the longer I listened to the book the less I paid attention to that and the more the story started taking over.

My Thoughts:

It was a very good book. I loved the story and it kept my attention. The only draw back was the narration issue I mentioned previously. So I would definitely recommend this one !!

Or will he be disappointed again?

ReviewThe Story:

Every one knows how difficult high school can be. Now imagine if during that time you were a girl with feelings for a boy 2 years younger than you. Unfortunately this is what Chloe was dealing with while she was in high school and like many of us would have she passed up her chance with the boy of her dreams, Kai, because of the peer pressure of teenagers. Now 5 years later she runs into him again. This time there is no worry about the age difference.

Kai is a champion kite-boarder and Chloe is in charge of photographing the latest event for the magazine she works for. Kai was blown away when he saw her for the first time after 5 years but he wasn’t going to take a chance of letting her slip away again. After all he’s dreamed of her for the past 5 years.

This story has some great interaction between characters even ones besides the main couple and also includes some HOT  smexy time !!

The Narration:

First I was taken by surprise at the narration. For some reason male narrators don’t seam to be as popular as female in romance audio books. However Mr. Ochlan did an amazing job. His voice was wonderful to listen to and he was great with the different characters and accents.

My Thoughts:

This was short and quick story, perfect to listen to on my commute to the every day job.  It was a wonderful read and I would love if the author continued the story of this couple into another book so we can see where things lead!

ReviewThe Story:

Brie recently received her degree in filmmaking but hasn’t been able to break into the business yet. So while she spends her days working in a tiny tobacco shop she spends her free time working on films for herself. He whole world is changed when a stranger walks into the store one day and Brie feels and instant attraction. For a few days she flip flops on her decision to sign up with the center but ultimately decided to take the training course. WHat we get from then on is one HOT sexual scene after another!

The Narration:

Pippa Jayne did an awesome job with the narration. I absolutely loved the fact that she could master a voice for each and every character and never faltered. She made me forget that I was listening to a narrator and I felt like I was listening to the characters instead.

My Thoughts:

Can a book be even sexier listening to it than reading it. After listening to this one I think so. After reading this title previously and giving it a 5 “Love Tap” review I wish I could give this one higher but thats as high as our rating system goes! I already know this is one I will continue to listen too over and over again !!
